"Hi! My name is Charlee. I am a 7-year old Cockapoo. I love my family and friends. My very favorite thing (besides treats) is cuddling and getting belly pets. I am a very happy girl and even though I might not make a good guard dog (since I love everyone) my family loves me just the same."
Congratulations Charlee for being our Star Patient winner. She is now entered into our annual drawing for $50!
She is a lovable 6 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She loves her daily walks. The biggest joy in her life is just being around people.
Congratulations Annie for being our Star Patient winner. She is now entered into our annual drawing for $50!
It is fairly common for your pet to become infested with an internal or external parasite at some point in its lifetime. Parasites can affect your pet in a variety of ways, ranging from simple irritation to causing life-threatening conditions if left untreated. Some parasites can even infect and transmit diseases to people! By following your veterinarian's recommendations and having your pet tested for parasites annually, you can protect your pet and your family from potentially harmful parasites all year long!
“I am a loving, loyal Yellow Lab. I love my family of five humans! I love to play frisbee and soccer in my backyard with my kids… they tired me out! My favorite treat is EVERYTHING!!! But I only get some milk bones once in a while and some peanut butter on my antler to chew… I LOVE TO CHEW and DIG!!!
Lately, I have noticed a LOT of squirrels and when we are on a walk... I try my hardest to CATCH them!… (good workout for me and mom!)
I like to protect my den and will let you know when you are in my boundary… watch out!
My name is Tucker and dog life is Good :)”
Congratulations Tucker for being our Star Patient winner. He is now entered into our annual drawing for $50!
Charlie is a 7-year old friendly boy who loves being around people. He even greets guests at the front door to welcome visitors. His favorite pastimes are eating, and curling up for a snooze in the perch above his cat condo. Overall, Charlie is a sweet and cuddly companion. Charlie sometimes thinks he can fly from the loft railing, but unfortunately he has not been successful and instead has made a couple of urgent vet visits. Thankfully nothing life-threatening. He is a brave cat, unafraid of vacuum cleaners, garbage trucks, and commercial size lawnmowers riding by the patio. However, in the winter if there's a snowplow anywhere within earshot he runs away and hides. He also has a phobia of rain and thunder ever since last summer when a big hail storm barraged the house.
Congratulations Charlie for being our Star Patient winner. He is now entered into our annual drawing for $50!
New and exciting things are coming to Pilot Knob Animal Hospital!
We are delighted to introduce the newest members of our PKAH family: Bretton, Kate, and Jenny!
Bretton is our newest Certified Vet Tech. She graduated from Michigan State University’s veterinary technology program in 2007 and recently moved to Minnesota. Bretton loves working with owners and their companions to ensure only the best care is provided to their pet. She also has a special interest in feline medicine and loves working with cats. In her spare time, Bretton enjoys gardening, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and of course, her furry companions. She currently has 4 cats (Whiskers, Cash, Uhuru, and Boots). All of them have helped Bretton better understand her feline patients and help make her a better technician.
Kate graduated from Argosy University in 2011. She started working at PKAH as a receptionist in May of 2014. Kate enjoys answering client questions and interacting with people and their pets. In her spare time, Kate enjoys reading, crafts, and taking fun classes with her cocker spaniel “Boomer” including agility, lure coursing, and scent work.
Jenny graduated from Penn Foster in 2006 with a 2-year associate’s degree as a veterinary assistant. She is also a dog trainer. She has 3 cats (Rauw Cat, Whitesox and Penner). In her spare time, Jenny loves to cook and watch Nascar with her kitties.

Gus was born August 12, 2010 and has been coming to PKAH since he was a pup. He's such a calm, sweet, and snuggly little man! We always look forward to seeing Gus's happy face for his yearly check-ups. Gus never misses a chance to hang out at the local dog park!
Congratulations Gus for being our Star Patient winner. He is now entered into our annual drawing for $50!
Nicki loves to watch the animals outside through the windows, but he does not like to be outside. He is a house cat only, so even going to PKAH is a trauma for him. He won’t go into his carrier until the car is down the street.
His favorite toy is a piece of Christmas garland with plastic pine needles. He has pulled so many off that the garland is almost bare. All the pieces are stashed under the couch.
As the first pet for a couple of empty nesters, he fills in well for the absent kids!
Congratulations Nicki for being our Star Patient winner. He is now entered into our annual drawing for $50!
